Ines Thora (b. 1996) is a Belgian artist who intuitively brings together painting, textile, and spatial installations. Using found fabric sheets and tablecloths, she creates paintings and installations in which traces of time, memory, and touch become visible.
For Thora, painting is not an attempt to capture an image, but a way of making presence tangible. The materials she works with — raw linen, transparent fabrics, pigment, thread, and stitched seams — play an active role in the creation of her paintings. Chance, vulnerability, and the physical process of making form an essential part of her visual language.
