Making masks in clay - a ceramics workshop for children
Ceramics as a vessel for fantasy, play and emotion
Which face will you make today?
In this workshop by ceramics studio Vessel, children discover how clay can tell stories and bring characters to life. After a short interactive exploration of the exhibition, they build their own mask and experiment with textures, stamps and colours using slip.
The masks are then glazed and finished, so each child can pick up their creation afterwards. Playing, discovering and making are at the heart of it all. All ideas are welcome — the wilder, the better!
