In this lecture, Marieke De Baerdemaeker and Jo Tollebeek explore ceramics from all corners of the world and across the centuries, from prehistoric urns to art deco vases from our own region.
Drawing on their expertise, they immersed themselves in Abby’s ceramics collection, resulting in an illuminating report and an accessible collection book that highlights key themes, highlights, surprising perspectives and background stories. The authors also advised on the selection of pieces for, and contributed texts to, the exhibition Coup de Théâtre. A Play of Clay.
