Abby shortlisted for the EUmies Awards
A recognition of architecture that is not only beautiful to look at, but also gives meaning to how we experience and share space. The EU Mies Award (European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture / Mies van der Rohe Awards) celebrates places that excel in concept, technique, culture, and community — exactly what Abby stands for: an open house where art, people, and ideas come together.
This year’s edition received 410 nominations, which were thoroughly analysed and discussed by the seven-member jury – President Smiljan Radić, Carl Bäckstrand, Chris Briffa, Zaiga Gaile, Tina Gregorič, Nikolaus Hirsch, and Rosa Rull – before drawing up the shortlist.
The 40 projects on the EU Mies Awards shortlist provide an up-to-date overview of European architecture over the past two years and show how architects are renewing public space, sustainability, and social impact across Europe. We are honored to now see Abby included on this list.
Thank you to Barozzi Veiga + TAB Architects, and to everyone who helped turn a former abbey into a contemporary place of imagination and connection.
