This was Día de Los Muertos
The autumn break was entirely dedicated to Día de Los Muertos, or the Day of the Dead.
This Mexican holiday is celebrated every year on November 1 and 2, around the autumn equinox, when the sun comes to rest and deep winter begins. It’s a unique blend of pre-Hispanic indigenous traditions, beliefs, and rituals, during which deceased ancestors are lovingly honored and remembered by family and friends.
To mark the exhibition Faith No More. Rituals for Uncertain Times, this vibrant tradition also found its way into Abby, with a range of activities and a special menu at Abby Café.
Gracias to LoveMexico.be and to everyone who helped build, sing, watch, and feel along. You turned Abby into a gateway between worlds.
